A solar shop that lets buyers do the sums
Tun Wan Solar sells off-grid and hybrid solar systems and DIY parts from Perak, and ships across Malaysia. The first question every buyer asks is how big a system they need, so the site answers it before a WhatsApp chat starts.

Lighthouse scores are lab measurements on a simulated phone, not data from real visitors.
Decisions
The sums are tested
Battery bank, off-grid sizing and wiring rules are plain functions with their own tests, so a change to one formula cannot quietly break another.
No database to look after
Content is a handful of files. A save in the admin panel is live on the site at once and is also committed to GitHub as a copy.
Ordering waits for the shop’s system
Online ordering is built but not yet open. When it opens, totals come from the shop’s own business system, never from the browser.
What the owner changes alone
Packages and prices
Every system package and DIY product, with its price.
Projects
Installation photos and details for each finished job.
Learning pages
Tutorials, the glossary and the step-by-step process page.
Built with
| Built with | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Next.js 16 | Pages are built once and served fast; a saved change shows straight away, without a rebuild. |
| React 19 | The calculator, simulator and wiring lab run in the browser, with no waiting between steps. |
| Tailwind CSS 4 | One set of design rules for every page, so new pages look like the old ones. |
| Vitest | Each solar formula has its own tests, so a wrong number shows up in a test, not in a quote. |
